Hello. I’m Erika. I live with my sweetheart and my cat Orangina in one of Oakland’s wonderful old Art Deco apartment buildings. I grew up at the end of a one-lane gravel road near the Pacolet River in North Carolina, where the fireflies and the toads come out at night.
The list of my delights seems to grow over time. I spend many hours making collages and sculpture, sending letters, taking photographs, writing poetry, finding castaway objects and notes, exploring the Bay and beyond, learning about cats, indulging in lavender ice cream, listening to music from around the world, and dancing. This blog is a tiny chronicle of some of these fascinations.
